
Jennifer Highland
Jennifer has an inherent, natural gift in the area of communications and over the years she has honed and developed her skills having worked extensively in a consultation role with a range of sectors across government, private sector and non-profit entities. She has conducted marketing and public relations seminars to bring clarity to organisations’ communications, marketing and public relations goals under HighMax Consulting the PR and Marketing Communications a PR boutique firm which she founded, where she provided oversight, management of strategies for varying initiatives; the fostering of community and corporate relationships and the alignment of public relations, and marketing tools for the optimization of stakeholder influence, response and buy-in on behalf of clients.
She also founded Signature Events which conceptualized and hosted major events in Barbados including fundraisers, leading American and Canadian Family Concert Tours that sought to fill the void of Christian family-oriented live shows in Barbados, and gospel concerts featuring leading Gospel artists from the USA, Caribbean and Barbados. She wrote and successfully produced and directed the ‘Broadway-type’ Christmas production: Light of the World Musical. Jennifer also managed one of Barbados’ top gospel artiste and served as publicist for the bestselling book authored by one of the country’s well-known clergy, which was featured on the New York Times and Barnes and Noble platforms. She has also brought biblical insight in a teaching capacity to women within the women’s ministry at her former church.
Jennifer has been featured on CBC TV8, Good Morning Barbados TV Show, Starcom Network’s Radio Stations: VOB 92.9FM, LIFE 97.5FM; CITA 90.1 FM Radio, PRAISE 105.7FM St. Vincent. She has also been featured in The Nation Newspaper, Barbados Today’s Online Newspaper and the Barbados Advocate. Jennifer conceptualized and successfully hosted the Caribbean’s first premium family education and stakeholder exhibition Baby to Toddler & Family Expo which focused on improving awareness of post and prenatal management and family health.
She currently serves as Vice President of Strategic Communications, Global Events & Stakeholder Engagement for Caribbean Israel Leadership Coalition (CILC) an NGO of the Caribbean Israel Group, headquartered in Barbados where she also helps to manage the portfolio for its Caribbean operations. She also serves in the capacity of Group Director, Public Relations and Communications for Caribbean Israel Venture Services (CIVSI) and Caribbean Israel Finance, (CIF) the project and financing arm of the Group.
Jennifer Highland has been a Public Relations and Marketing Communications Specialist for over 15 years. She holds a Masters Degree in Global Marketing and International Sales from Edinburgh Napier University Scotland and a diploma in Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations from the University of the West Indies (UWI) CavehillI School Open Campus. She has also completed courses in Project Management with the InterAmerican Development Bank, (IDB), Marketing and General Management for Small Business with the Barbados Institute of Management and Productivity (BAMP). She holds firm to the philosophy that “real progress occurs when we each reach back and enable others along the journey using our God given talents, skills and experience”. She is the proud mother of three boys, one daughter and is a member of Divine Visitation Assemblies in Barbados where she is an Elder and the Chief Protocol Officer.
